SANN stands for Study of Ancient and New Nepal. SANN Institute of Nursing was established in July 2002 with a focus on preparing nursing professionals through academic and practical education.
The institute began its academic activities with the Associate Degree in Nursing, Registered Nurse (RN) program in January 2003. That program continued until May 2005. SION then moved into bachelor's-level nursing education and began running the four-year B.Sc. Nursing program on November 21, 2005, under Purbanchal University.
The institute operates from Sitapaila, Nagarjun-4, Swotantra Marga, within Suvekchya International Hospital & Research Center in Kathmandu.
