Program Introduction
The four-year B.Ed. is both an academic and professional education program. It is designed to prepare students to teach two subjects at the secondary level by combining a specialization major with a different specialization minor.
The curriculum includes communication skills, professional education courses, major and minor specialization courses, and teaching practice. Students must complete 22 courses carrying a total of 2,200 marks.

The first and second years each carry 600 marks, while the third and fourth years each carry 500 marks.
Communication Skills includes General Nepali and General English. Professional core courses include Philosophical and Sociological Foundations of Education, Educational Psychology, and Curriculum and Evaluation. Students also select an elective related to instructional technology or information and communication technology in education.

The Tribhuvan University structure requires students to select one specialization major and a different specialization minor. The major consists of ten courses, while the minor consists of five courses.
Major and minor subject selection must follow the applicable entry requirements and the subject combinations available at the campus. A student cannot select the same subject as both major and minor.
Eligibility
Applicants who have completed the Higher Secondary Education Examination, Grade 12, Proficiency Certificate Level, or an equivalent qualification are eligible to apply for the B.Ed. program.
Tribhuvan University also applies subject-specific requirements when students select a specialization major. Relevant requirements include:

Nepali Education requires Grade 12 or PCL with Nepali as a major subject carrying at least 200 marks.

English Education requires English or Linguistics as a major subject, at least 50 percent in General English, or at least 50 percent in an entrance examination conducted by the concerned campus department.

Mathematics Education requires Mathematics as a major subject carrying at least 200 marks.

Population Education accepts applicants from several related academic backgrounds, including Population Studies, Geography, Economics, Science, Mathematics, Health and Physical Education, Community Health, Nursing, Commerce, Civics, Social Service, and Home Science.
Health and Physical Education has separate background and physical fitness requirements under the Tribhuvan University curriculum.
Except for the Biology minor under Science Education, minor subject areas are generally open to students regardless of their Grade 11, Grade 12, or PCL subject background. Biology as a minor is available only to students majoring in Physical Science.
Teaching Practice and Assessment
Teaching Practice is a compulsory fourth-year component carrying 100 marks. It provides students with an opportunity to connect education theory, subject knowledge, lesson preparation, and classroom teaching.
The remaining courses are distributed across communication skills, professional education, and specialization subjects. The program follows the Tribhuvan University annual system.
Khaptad Multiple Campus also conducts regular class tests and internal examinations as part of its academic arrangements.
