
Pokhara University Hosts Data Science and Decision-Making Training
The Faculty of Science and Technology at Pokhara University, in collaboration with the School of Engineering and coordinated by the MSc Bioinformatics program, successfully conducted a two-day Human Resource Development Program titled "Data Science and Decision-Making: Tools, Technologies, and Applications" on Ashadh 20–21, 2082 (July 4–5, 2025) at the “EGEA Green Lab” located in Vijayapur Block B.
Workshop Focus and Objectives
Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Buddhi Raj Joshi, shared that the workshop was designed to teach statistical analysis using Python programming and to build participants’ skills in using modern tools and technologies related to artificial intelligence. He highlighted the need to continue such workshops to promote interdisciplinary research within the university.
Opening and Closing Remarks
During the opening session, Dr. Om Prakash Giri, Director of the School of Engineering, delivered the welcome speech, and Dr. Namaraj Dhami, Executive Director of the Pokhara University Research Center, extended his best wishes.
At the closing session, Dr. Niraj KC, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and Engineering at Lumbini Technical University, and Dr. Niranjan Shrestha, President of the Pokhara University Faculty Association, stated that the workshop had achieved its intended goals, and the next steps would depend on the participants’ continued practice.

The workshop was coordinated by Madan Baral, the program coordinator of the MSc Bioinformatics program. Students currently enrolled in the same program played an important role in managing the event.
