
Purbanchal University Holds 41st Senate Meeting
Purbanchal University convened its 41st Senate Meeting at the Secretariat of the Prime Minister in Baluwatar, Kathmandu. The meeting was chaired by the University’s Chancellor and Right Honourable Prime Minister of Nepal, Mr. KP Sharma Oli.
Also present were Pro-Chancellor and Minister for Education, Science, and Technology, Mr. Raghuji Panta, and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Biju Kumar Thapalia. The meeting was conducted by Registrar and Member-Secretary of the Senate, Prof. Dr. Kalyani Mishra Tripathi.

Vice-Chancellor Thapalia presented the University’s strategic plans and policies for the academic year 2082–83 B.S., with a focus on:

Strengthening research and entrepreneurship

Modernizing the examination system

Enhancing national and international collaboration

Establishing the Purbanchal University Centre for Training (PUCT)

Expanding constituent campuses

Introducing performance-based evaluation practices
He also shared plans to upgrade the University Teaching Hospital, including the launch of MBBS and MD programs aimed at improving clinical education and ensuring sustainability.

Annual Report and Budget Presentation
Registrar Prof. Dr. Kalyani Mishra Tripathi delivered the annual report and presented the detailed budget proposal for the fiscal year 2082–83 B.S. The report was based on existing policies, the academic calendar, and the learning-and-earning initiative within the defined budget framework.
Chancellor’s Remarks and Conclusion
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, in his role as Chancellor, provided remarks and strategic direction for the University.
A vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Shailesh Mani Pokharel, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, expressing appreciation to all participants. The meeting was officially concluded by the Chancellor.
