CDC Concludes Workshop on Curriculum Implementation

The Curriculum Development Centre (CDC) has completed a “Workshop on Experience Sharing Related to Curriculum and Its Effective Implementation” to support the effective implementation of the curriculum in school education. The Centre, which has accelerated the process of revising the curriculum framework, held discussions with experts and stakeholders during the workshop.

Participation

The workshop was attended by:

• Members of the National Curriculum Framework (NC) Review Task Force

• Officials from the Ministry of Education and Sports

• Officials from the Center for Education and Human Resource Development

• Officials from the Education Review Office

• Officials from the Curriculum Development Centre

In addition, around 50 participants, including school principals and teachers presenting best practices, took part in the workshop.

Inauguration and Policy Views

Inaugurating the workshop, Curriculum Development Centre Director General Yubaraj Paudel said that sharing experiences, challenges, and successful practices in curriculum implementation is necessary to improve the quality of school education.

Similarly, Secretary at the Ministry of Education and Sports Chudamani Paudel presented his views on the policy direction of school education and priorities for curriculum reform.

Topics of Group Discussion

The participants were divided into different groups for discussions on various topics. The discussions included practices, challenges, policy needs, and suggestions for improvement related to the following topics:

• Youth Voice

• Book-Free Friday

• Nepali education system

• A-Level

• IB Continuum

• CBSE school

Panel Discussion and Closing

During the panel discussion held in the afternoon session, Dr. Lavdev Awasthi, Dr. Hari Lamsal, Dr. Bishwabala Thapa, and Dr. Lekhnath Paudel shared their views on curriculum implementation experiences, policy reforms, and the possibilities for transformation in school education. The discussion was facilitated by Pabitra Bahadur Gautam.

In the closing session, Dr. Meenakshi Dahal and Prof. Dr. Balchandra Luintel highlighted the key conclusions, suggestions, and future direction drawn from the workshop. They expressed confidence that such experience-sharing programs would make an important contribution to improving the quality of school education, evidence-based policymaking, and the effective implementation of the curriculum.
