Janaki Rural Municipality Awards Schools, Teachers, and Students for Improving Educational Quality

With the objective of improving educational quality, Janaki Rural Municipality in Kailali has started providing result-based grants to schools and awarding teachers and students who achieve excellent results. The Rural Municipality has prepared a procedure and implemented this arrangement based on the results of the annual examination of the academic session 2082.

According to Rural Municipality Chairperson Ganesh Chaudhary, the program has been introduced to make education competitive and improve the results of as many students as possible. He said it would play an effective role in promoting healthy competition between teachers and school administrations.

Schools Receiving Result-Based Grants

The Rural Municipality has provided grants to schools that succeeded in achieving excellent results in the academic session 2082 as follows:

Secondary Level

1. First: Janata Secondary School, Munuwa
   Grant amount: Rs. 400,000

2. Second: Rastriya Secondary School, Amaura
   Grant amount: Rs. 250,000

3. Third: Bhrikuti Secondary School, Suvarnapur
   Grant amount: Rs. 150,000

Basic Level up to Grade 8

1. First: Rastriya Basic School, Khairipur
   Grant amount: Rs. 300,000

2. Second: Bhrikuti Secondary School, Suvarnapur
   Grant amount: Rs. 200,000

Cash Awards and Honors for Subject Teachers

To improve educational standards in community schools, the Rural Municipality has started making contract agreements with subject teachers from 2082. According to Education Section Chief Dharmananda Kapadi, teachers who helped the highest number of students pass their subjects in Grade 8 and Grade 10 (SEE) examinations were honored with Rs. 15,000 in cash.

1. Nepali subject: Indra Upadhyay, Janata Secondary School

2. English subject: Mohan Bhandari, Arunodaya Secondary School

3. Mathematics subject: Basanti Joshi, Arunodaya Secondary School

4. Science subject: Arjun Chaudhary, Adarsha Secondary School

5. Social Studies subject: Tankaraj Bhat, Arunodaya Secondary School

Teachers Awarded Based on Grade 10 SEE Results

1. Nepali subject: Tikaram Jaishi, Himalaya Rastriya Secondary School

2. English subject: Rambahadur Bhul

3. Mathematics subject: Rupa Regmi

4. Science subject: Tekbahadur Dhami, Arunodaya Secondary School

5. Social Studies subject: Khagendraprasad Ojha, Principal, Himalaya Rastriya Secondary School

Outstanding Students Honored

The Rural Municipality has implemented a rule to honor the top three students who secure the highest marks within the Rural Municipality in the SEE and Grade 8 examinations with cash and certificates of appreciation. The cash awards to be received by the students are as follows:

1. First position: Rs. 5,500

2. Second position: Rs. 4,000

3. Third position: Rs. 3,000

Chief Administrative Officer Bhanu Bhakta Bhatta said the program was launched to maintain the trust of parents and students in community schools and to maintain educational quality by making teachers and school administrations accountable. The Rural Municipality believes this will help create a foundation for improvement in the education sector.
