Junior Division NCC Training Begins for 6,630 Students

Kathmandu, Asar 3. The National Cadet Corps (NCC) has started Junior Division National Cadet Corps (NCC) training with the objective of developing discipline, leadership capacity, social responsibility, and a spirit of national service among the younger generation. The training has begun by including 6,630 male and female students studying in 221 schools across the country.

The training is being conducted with the goal of preparing capable, disciplined, and nation-dedicated citizens from the school level. It will be completed in two phases. According to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information of the Nepal Army, institutional training will be conducted in the respective schools in the first phase, while an annual collective camp will be organized in the second phase with the participation of the selected students.

Preparation for Senior Division Training

The National Cadet Corps has stated that preparations are also underway to conduct Senior Division training from the coming month of Bhadra, including 1,080 students from 36 schools.

Training Subjects and Objectives

The Junior Division training includes both theoretical and practical components. The main subjects of the training are as follows:

• Military skills and discipline

• Disaster risk reduction

• Leadership and personality development

• Social responsibility

• Team performance

It is believed that this training will develop self-confidence, a sense of responsibility, leadership capacity, and skills required during disasters among students.

More Than 89,000 Trained

Established in B.S. 2022, the National Cadet Corps has so far provided training to 89,894 people through the Senior and Junior Divisions. Trained individuals have been actively participating in various social and national activities through alumni associations formed at the central, provincial, and district levels.

As this program has been found effective in developing leadership among youth from the school level and increasing their dedication to social service, the participation of students and educational institutions has grown significantly in recent years.
