Mahayagya at Satyawati Multiple Campus, Gulmi
A Rashtrakalyan evam Vishva Shanti Virat Dhanadhanyachal Sang–Shrimad Bhagwat Sapthaha Gyan Mahayagya–2082 has begun at Satyawati Multiple Campus, Hansara, Satyawati Rural Municipality–5 in Gulmi. The Mahayagya has been organized from Mangsir 18 to 25 with the objective of raising financial support for the academic development of the campus.
According to the campus, Shrimad Bhagwat discourse is being conducted by Swami Gyanananda Saraswati Maharaj, Swami Vivekananda Saraswati Maharaj, and Acharya Narayan Prasad Gaire of Nepal Sant Samaj. The Mahayagya was inaugurated along with local tableaux, bhajan groups, and a kalash procession.
Satyawati Multiple Campus received affiliation from Tribhuvan University in 2070. Humanities and Management faculties have been running at this campus. The campus was established with the support of the then Satyawati Secondary School and the local community. This institution does not have a separate fund.
Campus Chief Bikash Dhakal stated that the Mahayagya has been organized because it was difficult to manage the campus with only the grant from Tribhuvan University. He said that, after deducting the expenses of the Mahayagya, the remaining funds will be used for campus management to ensure sustainability through the interest income.
He further said that although they had expected more than two crore rupees in financial support, one crore fifteen lakh rupees had already been collected by the start of the Mahayagya. While some contributions have been pledged, most of the money has already been received. At present, only 92 students are studying at the campus.
Since both grain donations and cash support are accepted at the Mahayagya, the campus has requested all who are able to contribute. The campus is working to start the Education Faculty in the near future, to further develop information and communication technology and quality education, and to arrange residential hostel facilities.
Campus Chief Dhakal stated that the campus has a modern library where students do not need to buy any books or pay fees for extra classes. According to the organizers, along with Lakshyawan, Maharudrabhishek, Panchadevopasana, various mantra chanting, Shatachandi, Shukla Yajurveda, Gita, Vishnusahasranama and other recitations, there will also be bhajan kirtan, Krishna Leela, and dance performances during the Mahayagya.
