The Transport Management Office Surkhet has adopted a new measure to prevent the entry of fake examinees in driving license tests. The office has introduced a TBMS system (biometric identification-based entrance regulation) to control entry through the biometric identification of examinees and to stop non-examinees.

After implementing this system, the office has also started motorcycle and scooter category examinations from last Tuesday. The office has conducted the license examination after a gap of about 19 months. The system has been implemented in coordination with Business Online Service. The office has stated that, from now on, written and practical examinations will be conducted every week through this system.

Head of the Transport Management Office, Mukundnath Yogi, said that in the past there were problems such as the participation of fake examinees and various hassles, so the biometric identification system has been introduced to prevent such issues. He informed that only examinees with biometric identification will be able to take the examination and unauthorized persons can be easily identified. He stated that this will allow only genuine examinees to participate and irregularities will be controlled. According to the office, this system has been implemented for the first time. Only 200 persons can enter under this system. This time, 138 examinees participated.

Now, weekly examinations of different categories will be held through biometric identification.

Similarly, from this year, the office has prohibited the entry of brokers inside the office premises. Office Chief Yogi said that, in the past, brokers used to enter the office and take out and check files themselves, so from this year their entry into the office has been restricted. He also stated that various transport-related sections, which were previously scattered, have now been brought into a single building and all work is being carried out from that same location.

At the same time, he informed that service delivery has become more challenging because there are currently only 15 staff, including office assistants, in a post structure that requires 25 personnel. The higher authority has been requested to add more employees.
