Election Commission Nepal Political Party Registration Notices 2082
Election Commission Nepal – Notice on Political Party Registration for House of Representatives Member Election 2079 (pursuant to Article 271 of the Constitution of Nepal).
For participation in the House of Representatives election to be held on Thursday, Falgun 21, 2079, political parties registered with the Commission are notified, pursuant to Article 271 of the Constitution of Nepal and Section 48 of the Political Parties Act, 2073, to submit applications for party registration at the Election Commission, Kantipath, Kathmandu, during office hours from Mangsir 1, 2079 to Mangsir 10, 2079, in the format prescribed in Schedule-12 of the Political Parties Regulation, 2074.
The application format can be downloaded from the Commission’s website www.election.gov.np.
When submitting an application for party registration, the following details must be disclosed in the application:
(a) Party details: full and short name of the political party; date of establishment; date of registration with the Commission; address of the central office; correspondence address; telephone number; email; and website.
(b) Number of office bearers and members of the party’s central executive committee, and of committees at the provincial and district levels.
(c) Date on which the party submitted its annual audit report to the Commission.
(d) If elections have been held for the party’s central and provincial level executive committees, the date of the most recent such election.
(e) Name of the election in which the party wishes to participate.
(f) The election symbol obtained in the previous election.
(g) Where the party did not obtain an election symbol in the previous election, or, even having obtained a symbol, wishes to obtain another election symbol, the party shall mention three election symbols it wishes to obtain (in order of priority).
(h) For the purpose of two or more parties participating in an election under a common election symbol, pursuant to Section 49 of the Political Parties Act, 2073, an application for party registration must be submitted in the format prescribed in Schedule-13 of the Political Parties Regulation, 2074.
Documents to be attached
(a) The party’s statute, regulation and manifesto; the specimen of the election symbol; and an electronic copy of that symbol.
(b) A copy of the decision of the central committee to register the party for the purpose of the House of Representatives Member Election, 2079.
(c) The annual audit report for Fiscal Year 2080/2081; however:
(1) A party newly maintained by way of merger or amalgamation in Fiscal Year 2080/081 shall submit an annual audit report for Fiscal Year 2080/081 prepared in such a way that it also shows the details of the parties prior to merger or amalgamation.
(2) A party newly maintained by way of merger or amalgamation in Fiscal Year 2081/082 shall, when submitting the audit report for Fiscal Year 2080/081, submit the annual audit reports of the parties that were separate earlier.
(d) If the application for party registration is submitted by an authorised person other than the party’s chief office bearer, the authorisation letter issued by such office bearer.
(e) The central committee decision designating the office bearer authorised to provide the party’s official letter to candidates, together with the specimen signature in the prescribed format indicating the name, position and contact number of the designated office bearer.
(f) When submitting an application for party registration, a letter stating that the conditions under Article 269(4) of the Constitution have been met and that there is a commitment to continue fulfilling these conditions must also be attached to the application.
When submitting an application for party registration, the conditions under Article 271(2) of the Constitution must have been fulfilled.

Notice on Political Party Registration for National Assembly Member Election 2079 (pursuant to Article 271 of the Constitution of Nepal)
For participation in the National Assembly election to be held on Sunday, Magh 11, 2079, political parties registered with the Commission are notified, pursuant to Article 271 of the Constitution of Nepal and Section 48 of the Political Parties Act, 2073, to submit applications for party registration at the Election Commission, Kantipath, Kathmandu, during office hours from Mangsir 1, 2079 to Mangsir 10, 2079, in the format prescribed in Schedule-12 of the Political Parties Regulation, 2074.

(a) A copy of the decision of the central committee to register the party for the purpose of the National Assembly Member Election, 2079.
(b) Date of submission of the annual audit report for Fiscal Year 2080/2081; however:
(1) A party newly maintained by way of merger or amalgamation in Fiscal Year 2080/081 shall, when submitting the audit report for Fiscal Year 2080/081, submit an annual audit report prepared in such a way that it also shows the details of the parties prior to merger or amalgamation.
(2) A party newly maintained by way of merger or amalgamation in Fiscal Year 2081/082 shall, when submitting the audit report for Fiscal Year 2080/081, submit the annual audit reports of the parties that were separate earlier.
(c) The central committee decision authorising a person other than the party’s chief office bearer to submit the application for party registration, and the authorisation letter issued by the chief office bearer.
(d) The central committee decision designating the office bearer authorised to provide the party’s official letter to candidates, together with the specimen signature in the prescribed format indicating the name, position and contact number of the designated office bearer.
(e) When submitting an application for party registration, a letter stating that the conditions under Article 269(4) of the Constitution have been met and that there is a commitment to continue fulfilling these conditions must also be attached to the application.
(f) When submitting an application for party registration, the conditions under Article 271(2) of the Constitution must have been fulfilled.
