Nepal Police Headquarters, Naxal, has directed nine police personnel who have remained absent without authorization for an extended period to report for duty.
The Law Section under the Law and Human Rights Division of Nepal Police Headquarters published a notice on 2083 Asoj 12 (2083/06/12), instructing them to appear with an explanation within seven (7) days, excluding the time allowed for travel.
According to the Headquarters, the personnel have remained absent from their respective offices since different dates. Although efforts were made to locate them and the required notice-posting procedure under Rule 115(2) of the Nepal Police Regulations, 2071, as amended, was completed, they did not establish contact. The Headquarters therefore issued the collective notice.
Failure to Report May Result in Removal from Service
The notice states that if the concerned personnel fail to appear before their respective offices or the offices issuing the notice within the specified seven-day period and provide a satisfactory reason for their absence, action will be taken to remove them from service.
Nepal Police Headquarters stated that their unauthorized absence constitutes an offence under Rule 113(1)(f) of the Nepal Police Regulations, 2071. They may be removed from service under Rule 109(b)(1) of the same Regulations.
The Headquarters has also clarified that the present notice will be treated as an opportunity for the concerned personnel to submit their defence for the purpose of Part 4 of Schedule 14 of the Regulations.
