Rajarshi Janak University Presents Budget of Over Rs 51 Crore for Upcoming Fiscal Year
Janakpurdham. Rajarshi Janak University (RJU) has presented an estimated budget of Rs 51 crore 17 lakh 2 thousand for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/084.
The annual program and budget proposal presented at the university Senate meeting outlines allocations for capital and operating expenditures. The budget and programs were submitted to the Senate for approval in accordance with the provisions of the University Act, 2074.
Budget Allocation
- Total Budget: Rs 51 crore 17 lakh 2 thousand
- Capital Expenditure: Rs 21 crore 8 lakh 95 thousand
- Operating Expenditure: Rs 30 crore 8 lakh 7 thousand
Academic Programs and Student Enrollment Target
A total of 5,927 students are currently studying at the university's constituent and affiliated campuses.
The university is operating more than 20 undergraduate and postgraduate programs. It has recently introduced classes in nine new subjects, including BIT, MCA, BALLB, and LLM.
The university has set a target of enrolling at least 5,000 new students in the upcoming academic session. It also plans to fully implement an integrated academic calendar in accordance with the directives of the University Grants Commission (UGC).
To organize technical education, the university has brought the School of Health Science into operation. It is also proceeding with agreements with various hospitals and health institutions to provide students with practical training opportunities.
The university has introduced the "Learning while Earning" concept for meritorious students and has also implemented curricula based on market demand.
Expansion of Physical Infrastructure
The university has prioritized the development of its own physical infrastructure and has proposed construction projects and campus establishment at several locations.
- Dhanusha: A modern academic building will be constructed on 9 bigha and 14 kattha of land acquired at Nagarain in accordance with the Detailed Project Report (DPR).
- Rautahat: A building for Pandit Mangalkumar Upadhyay Multiple Campus will be constructed in Gaur in cooperation with the Madhesh Province Government.
- Kathmandu: A separate constituent campus will be established to better organize the law programs currently being operated.
- Bara: The process of establishing a constituent campus for technology-related programs will be continued.
Research, Cultural Promotion, and Digitalization
To strengthen its academic standing and promote research, the university plans to institutionally establish a high-level "Research and Innovation" body from the upcoming fiscal year.
It also plans to publish research journals in two specialized disciplines and organize international conferences and workshops to promote Eastern philosophy, the Ramayana Circuit, Mithila art, and culture.
The university will also organize a "Cultural Talent Program" for the overall development of students and conduct its second convocation as part of its academic quality improvement efforts.
The university has proposed a policy of "full digitalization" to make its administrative, financial, and academic operations more technology-based.
From the upcoming academic session, the university plans to fully integrate a Learning Management System (LMS), an Integrated Campus Management System, and the HMES system for information exchange with the University Grants Commission.
The university has also stated that its examination system, admission process, human resource management, and accounting system will be moved to an online and centralized model.
