Sharada Secondary School, Pyauli, Bhojpur Unveils New E-Library Building with Support of Ex-Students

Sharada Secondary School in Pyauli, Bhojpur has recently inaugurated a new e-library building, constructed by the school's own students at a cost of approximately one and a half million rupees. The handover ceremony was attended by alumni and local officials, making it an emotional reunion for many of them who had fond memories of the school and its contribution to their education.

Importance of E-Libraries for Rural Students

The ceremony was addressed by former student of the school, Deepakraj Sapkota, who emphasized the importance of e-libraries in providing equal opportunities for students in rural areas. He believes that easy access to the internet will enable village students to access the same resources as their city counterparts. The e-library of Sharada Secondary School can serve as a model for other schools in the district.

Gratitude for the Construction of the New Building

The school principal, Shyamsunder Sah, expressed his gratitude for the construction of the two-story modern building and called the alumni produced by the school 'precious gems'. He also suggested that the addition of one more floor in the newly constructed building would solve the problem of space for the school.

Support Pledged by Alumni

During the ceremony, several former students pledged their support for the school, with alumnus Indra Khatri promising to teach one student for free every year in his investment engineering college. Another alumnus, Rohini Khanal, handed over one lakh rupees for the establishment of Akshaya Kosh to operate the e-library.

Features of the E-Library

The e-library is equipped with computers that provide access to various teaching materials from class one to graduate level, even without an internet connection. Its server and all information is provided by the Society of Ex-Budhanilkantha Students (SEBS).

Overall, the construction of the e-library building by the students of Sharada Secondary School is a commendable achievement that will help promote distance learning and provide equal opportunities to students in rural areas. The support pledged by the alumni will further enhance the educational experience of the students, making it a model for other schools in the district.
