Degrees and professional qualifications were awarded through the group’s international academic partners, including Leeds Beckett University, University of the West of England, Keele University, University of London, ACCA, and Cambridge International Examinations.

The ceremony opened with an academic procession, followed by the national anthems of Nepal and the United Kingdom. British Education Group CEO Rajan Kandel formally opened the programme by lighting the traditional Panas.

Speaking to the graduates, Kandel recognised their academic achievement and thanked their families, teachers, and the wider college community for supporting them throughout their studies.

He also spoke about the group’s expanding alumni network. According to Kandel, the Class of 2026 now joins more than 4,000 graduates of The British College and over 10,000 graduates across the British Education Group.

He encouraged the graduates to stay connected with the college and with one another as they move into further study and professional careers.

The ceremony also included messages from college adviser Paul Cleves MBE and Michael Rutland OBE, Bhutan’s first Honorary Consul in the United Kingdom and a former adviser to the college.

Dave Chesley, Senior Lecturer and Link Tutor representing Leeds Beckett University, attended the ceremony in person.

Graduates also received video messages from representatives of the group’s international academic partners. Professor Steve West CBE, Vice-Chancellor of the University of the West of England; Professor Kevin Shakesheff, Vice-Chancellor of Keele University; and Simon Cleary of the University of London addressed the graduating students.

Students with outstanding academic achievements were recognised with Excellence Awards during the programme. Representatives from different courses also spoke about their experiences and the journey that led them to graduation.

The formal programme concluded with a vote of thanks from Arun Kandel, Country Director of The British College.

Amardeep Mandal, Chief Growth Officer of the British Education Group, described the ceremony as an important moment for the group, noting that it was the first time students from all four institutions had been brought together for graduation on the same platform.

He said the occasion reflected the group’s shared approach to education and its aim of creating opportunities for students beyond national borders.

“As our students move into professional careers and further study, we are proud that they will go on to become the next generation of leaders, innovators, and professionals in Nepal and internationally,” Mandal said.
