Three Names Recommended for Tribhuvan University Vice Chancellor; Seven Other Universities Also Finalized
Three names have been recommended for the post of vice chancellor of Tribhuvan University (TU). According to high-level sources, the names of Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, Prof. Dr. Nanda Bahadur Singh, and Prof. Dr. Durga Datta Paudel have been recommended. Prime Minister and TU Chancellor Balendra Shah will appoint one of the recommended candidates as vice chancellor.
The backgrounds of the recommended candidates are as follows:

Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa: He is a former vice chancellor of Kathmandu University. He was appointed vice chancellor of Kathmandu University in Magh 2077.

Prof. Dr. Nanda Bahadur Singh: He is a former vice chancellor of Mid-Western University. He became vice chancellor of the university in Falgun 2076.

Prof. Dr. Durga Datta Paudel: He has been living in the United States. He had taught at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette, Louisiana, USA.
For the post of TU vice chancellor, Amar Prasad Yadav, Kavi Prasad Pokhrel, Krishna Raj Acharya, Govinda Subedi, Tanka Nath Dhamala, Tara Prasad Bhusal, and Ram Prasad Regmi were shortlisted along with Paudel, Singh, and Thapa.
Names Finalized for Eight Universities
Three names each have been finalized for the posts of vice chancellor of eight universities, including TU. The University Vice Chancellor Selection and Recommendation Committee finalized three names for each university.
Shri Prasad Bhattarai, joint secretary of the Higher Education Division at the Ministry of Education and Sports, informed that three names each have been finalized for the proposed vice chancellors. According to sources at the Ministry of Education, the eight universities for which three names each have been finalized for vice chancellor are as follows:

There is a legal provision that the committee will recommend the finalized three names for each university to the Chancellor, and the Chancellor will appoint one person as vice chancellor in each university.
