The Municipal Executive office of the Mikwakhola Rural Municipality (मिक्वाखोला गाउँपालिका, ताप्लेजुङ) is located at Mikwakhola, Taplejung District, Koshi Pradesh of Nepal. The municipality manages physical infrastructure development under its Planning Division. Road improvements, ward connectivity, and essential public infrastructure such as water supply and electricity expansion are handled by the municipal engineer and technical team.
Local taxes are collected on entertainment, services, and business operations. Annual policies, budgets, and development plans are transparently published. Community toll bodies are involved in minor infrastructure maintenance.
The Mewa Khola Hydropower Project (101 MW) is currently under preparation. Once operational, this project is expected to provide energy security and contribute to the municipality’s income.
Agriculture Officer Jay Kishor Singh oversees crop support, irrigation planning, and seed distribution. The Livestock Services Division organizes health camps, vaccinations, and breed improvement programs, aiming to modernize traditional animal husbandry.
Health Coordinator Lalit Narayan Yadav coordinates public health initiatives. Periodic health camps, sanitation campaigns, and awareness programs are conducted in all wards.
The Employment Service Center, led by Pawan Bhattarai, offers skill training, job placement assistance, and youth employment subsidies under national schemes.
All wards are connected via fiber-optic internet (100 Mbps) since 2023. Niroj Dhakal leads the ICT Division, which maintains digital records, promotes online services, and coordinates computer literacy campaigns.
The municipality enacts local legislation through its Municipal Assembly. Budgets, strategic plans, and policy frameworks are openly published. A dedicated Judicial Committee handles community-level disputes.
Public feedback is collected through online surveys and municipal service forms. Citizens can access tax records, application forms, and service updates via the official municipal portal.
The municipality currently lacks a commercial bank branch. Residents must travel to Phungling for financial services. Efforts are ongoing to collaborate with national banks to establish a local branch.
Broadband connectivity and mobile services are being upgraded. Village access roads and foot trails are prioritized for all-season usability.
Plans are underway to expand digital education resources in partnership with local schools. The municipality is also evaluating opportunities for establishing a technical education center.
