Welthungerhilfe (WHH) is one of Germany's leading non-governmental organizations with a dual-mandate in both development cooperation and emergency response. To bring justice for all, WHH partners with the civil society organizations in the countries where it operates, and currently, the agency is partnering with over 100 local partners from 37 countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America (www.welthungerhilfe.de).
WHH is operational in Nepal since 2012, and currently managing a different projects in ten districts under four program thematic areas (sectors): food and nutrition security, right to food and empowerment, disaster risk reduction, and WASH. WHH works hand in hand with civil society in Nepal to empower socially marginalized and economically poor citizens to reinforce their resilience and to ensure their right to adequate food and nutrition.
Within the umbrella of sustainable food and nutrition security (SFNS) program theme, WHH is in the process of implementing the Linking Agriculture and Natural Resource Management towards Nutrition Security (LANN+) project in Dhading and Salyan districts, from 2020 — 2023, in partnership with local/national level NGOs. The project aims to improve the nutritional status of targeted households and improve the stakeholder coordination for nutrition policy support. And, to manage the project in the field, WHH Nepal announces a vacancy for the following position:
1. Project Coordinator (1 position)
The position is based at either Dhading or Salyan district with frequent visits to the project locations. The Project Coordinator is responsible to backstopping project partners, oversee project implementation, coordinating with partners and line agencies, and quarterly and interim reporting of the project. The position ensures the implementation of the project's MEAL system/ framework and is the project focal person for the organization in the field.
Qualification requirement :
Nepali citizen with at least five year's working experience in a similar portfolio and having a Master's degree in Agriculture or Public Health or Nutrition or Economics or Social Sciences or Rural Development with a sound understanding and technical knowledge of project management in the sector of agriculture, nutrition, food security and local/ national level advocacy and governance.
