The Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) is a four-year program organized across eight semesters.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) is a four-year undergraduate nursing program.

The academic sequence includes anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, microbiology and parasitology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, nutrition and dietetics, foundation of nursing, community health nursing, medical-surgical nursing, psychiatric nursing, geriatric nursing, pediatric nursing, midwifery, gynaecology nursing, epidemiology, research and biostatistics, educational science, and leadership and management.

The program combines theory and practical nursing education. Clinical learning allows students to apply nursing principles in healthcare environments while developing skills in patient care, community health, midwifery, communication, management, and nursing research.

HIC nursing students receive clinical exposure through Nepal Police Hospital, Thapathali Maternity Hospital, Patan Hospital, and other private hospitals.

Post-Basic Bachelor of Nursing Science (PBNS)

The Post-Basic Bachelor of Nursing Science (PBNS) is a three-year nursing program under Purbanchal University.

Purbanchal University changed the program name from Post-Basic Bachelor of Nursing (PBBN) to Post-Basic Bachelor of Nursing Science (PBNS) from Academic Year 2075/76. The revised program runs for three academic years.

Its coursework includes basic and medical sciences, medical-surgical nursing, nursing concepts and theories, pediatric nursing, midwifery, community health nursing, psychiatric nursing, educational science, epidemiology, geriatric nursing, applied computer technology, leadership and management, research and biostatistics, oncology nursing, and an elective area.

The elective component includes options in Community Health Nursing, Midwifery, Medical-Surgical Nursing, and Psychiatric Nursing. The program is intended for nurses continuing their education at bachelor level and gives greater academic attention to advanced nursing practice, leadership, teaching, research, and management.

Teaching and Learning Approach

HIC uses several teaching methods across its health sciences programs. Classroom lectures are combined with problem-based learning, group discussions, case studies, project work, and presentations.
