Admission to nursing education is governed by the prevailing rules of the Medical Education Commission (MEC). Applicants must meet the current MEC eligibility and admission requirements for the relevant academic intake.
BSc Nursing Admission Process
Admission is based on MECEE-BL and follows the prevailing MEC rules, guidelines, code of conduct, merit and matching procedures, scholarship provisions, seat allocation system, fee structure, and admission calendar.
Seat numbers are determined through the applicable MEC process and may change from one academic year to another. Scholarship provisions, fees, admission procedures, and related examination guidelines may also be revised through MEC decisions.
Students applying for the program should therefore follow the requirements issued for the particular admission cycle rather than relying on seat numbers or admission arrangements from an earlier year.

At KAMHSON, the nursing learning setting includes clinical labs and equipment, reference materials, computer facilities, hospital rounds, guided case discussions, and academic support.
The course therefore requires sustained participation in both academic and practical nursing work across its four years.

Theory courses use internal and final assessment:
-
Internal assessment: 20%
-
Final assessment: 80%
Practical evaluation is divided equally:
-
Internal practical evaluation: 50%
-
Final practical evaluation: 50%
Practical assessment can include performance evaluation, case study or presentation, client teaching, student teaching, nursing care plans, procedure evaluation, logbooks, project work, documentation, OSPE/OSCE or simulation, and viva as applicable to the subject.
Learning Areas and Professional Preparation
The BSN curriculum develops nursing knowledge from basic to advanced levels while integrating hospital nursing, community health, family and reproductive health, midwifery, psychiatric nursing, research, and management.
Its academic objectives include applying the nursing process, communicating with individuals and communities, using epidemiological concepts, conducting basic research, developing teaching skills, and building leadership capacity in nursing services.
The program also prepares students for responsibilities connected with nursing care, education, administration, and basic research.
Career Areas After BSc Nursing
Graduates may pursue nursing responsibilities in hospitals, health institutions, community settings, educational institutions, and other health-service environments, depending on professional registration, experience, employer requirements, and available positions.
The curriculum identifies nursing officer, faculty, basic-level researcher, and care-provider functions among the areas for which BSN graduates are academically prepared.
Academic completion does not by itself provide professional authorization to practise. Graduates must pass the applicable licensing examination and meet the registration requirements of the Nepal Nursing Council before entering the profession.
Who May Consider BSc Nursing
This course is designed for students entering university-level nursing education from a science background with Biology and who meet the applicable academic and MEC admission requirements.
The curriculum involves four years of theory, laboratory work, clinical practice, community nursing, midwifery, research, education, and management. Students considering the program should account for both its academic workload and its substantial practical component.
