Bheti Story Collection and Literary Discussion on Ichchhuk

The short story collection Bheti, written by Vishnu Panthi “Vinu”, has been launched. The collection, published by Namaste Adhunik Laghukatha Manch, was unveiled by the forum’s patron Dr. Vidhur Chalise, founding chairperson Ghanshyam Dhallakoti, and the author himself.

This is Panthi’s first short story collection. It contains 40 short stories. According to the author, the stories use sharp satire to explore the web of social traditions, political distortions, festivals, family lifestyles, and the many forms of distortion, contradiction, pain, and suffering that exist in society.

Panthi said the collection especially draws attention to certain social figures who, for purely personal interests, are ready to commit even deeply objectionable acts, and to characters who, in the pursuit of name and money, do not even realize that they have lost their self-respect. He added that the stories also touch on personality development based on the practice of family and social responsibilities, religious conduct and reform, and the problems connected with these issues.
