Annual Report of Lok Sewa Aayog 2077

Public Service Commission - PSC (Lok Sewa Aayog), Central office, Anamnagar, Kathmandu has published the 61st annual report for the fiscal year 2076/077. This report has consisted of the whole activities during the fiscal year. Please download the Pdf file of the annual report from the following link.

1) Advertisement (Vacancy Notices):

As per the demand of the Commission for filling up the vacancies from various service-operating bodies, the percentage has been fixed for the advertisement of a total of 4,754 posts within the time frame stipulated in the annual work schedule of the Commission.

During the reporting period, 684 promotion notices, 92 internal competitive advertisements, 157 open competitive advertisements, and 334 advertisements of various inclusive groups were published and a total of 1,267 advertisements/notices were published.

From the advertisement, 1,840 posts for promotion, 310 posts for internal competition, 1,436 posts for open competition, and a total of 1168 posts for inclusive competition for women, Adivasi / Janajati, Madhesi, Dalit, disabled and backward areas. Applications were invited for a total of 4,754 posts.

2) Total Application received:

 For the advertisements published during the fiscal year 2076/77, the Commission has received 4,007 applications for promotion notices in Gazetted posts on the basis of efficiency and seniority, and 45,1526 applications for internal competition and open advertisement in the online application system, and a total of 455,533 applications.

Candidates from all 77 districts of Nepal have applied in the same period as last year. The five districts with the highest number of applications are Saptari, Sarlahi, Dhanusha, Siraha, and Kailali.

The districts with the lowest number of applications are Manang, Mustang, Rasuwa, Dolpa, and Mugu respectively. The highest number of applications has been received from Province No. 2 and the lowest number from Karnali. Of the advertisements published by the commission, no application was received in 28 advertisements.

3) Examination

A total of 1,002 sets for civil service and local service posts, 2,186 sets for various posts in security agencies and organizations were selected by the commission to select suitable candidates for the advertised posts. The examination has been conducted by preparing 18 sets of revised question papers for the district judges.

Examinations were conducted for a total of 2,914 posts from 583 advertisements of internal, open, and inclusive competitions advertised for the civil service. A total of 93,012 candidates including 35,866 women and 57,146 men participated in the examinations.

Out of the first round of examinations for the posts of Section Officer, Nayab Subba, and Kharidar, or similar posts, only 18.2% of the candidates have been selected for the second phase.

Out of the advertisements published during the reporting period, none of the candidates could pass the examination conducted for 8 advertisements (12 posts in total). Similarly, in 34 advertisements for 887 posts, only 6,024 candidates have passed, which is less than the demand. A total of 78 candidates, including 13 women and 65 men, have been taken into custody for irregularities in the examination.
