Mangaladevi Secondary School Establishes Akshaya Kosh to Bolster Student Education

Innovative Educational Support: Akshaya Kosh at Mangaladevi Secondary School

Mangaladevi Secondary School, located in Tinpokhari, Sankhuwasabha district, has taken a significant step towards educational equity with the creation of Akshaya Kosh, a fund dedicated to supporting financially challenged students. With a generous allocation of five lakh rupees, this fund is a tribute to the late social worker Lt. Chim Bahadur Rai and his wife Jayamaya Rai.

Initiated by Ajit Kumar Rai and Dip Bahadur Rai, sons of the Rai couple, the Jayamaya Memorial Fund aims to alleviate the financial burdens faced by students from underprivileged backgrounds. This move is particularly poignant in a region where economic hardships often impede educational progress.

The fund, officially handed over to Tularam Magar, Chairman of the School Management Committee, is a beacon of hope for students at risk of dropping out due to poverty. The commitment to annually support three female and three male students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, including the Jehendar tribes and Dalits, underscores the school's dedication to inclusive education.

The establishment of Akshaya Kosh is a response to the increasing dropout rates driven by financial difficulties. This initiative not only provides immediate relief but also sets a precedent for long-term educational support mechanisms.

Principal Yogendra Shrestha emphasized the importance of Akshaya Kosh in fostering educational development. He stressed the need for sustained attention to educational improvements to prevent stagnation in higher education sectors.

This initiative by Mangaladevi Secondary School is a significant step towards creating equal educational opportunities. By focusing on the needs of financially disadvantaged students, Akshaya Kosh is setting a model for other institutions to follow, ensuring that education remains accessible to all, regardless of their economic background.
