Monitoring Committee Formed to Reform JS Murarka Campus, Lahan
A monitoring committee has been formed under the coordination of Provincial Assembly Member Rajendra Prasad Chaudhary to improve the academic standard of JS Murarka Campus, located in Lahan.
Campus Chief Sanjay Chaudhary informed that the decision was made during a campus management committee meeting held on Wednesday morning.
Aim to Prevent Student Outmigration from Community Institutions
To enhance the educational quality of community schools and campuses and prevent student migration, a monitoring committee has been established.
The committee includes representatives from the campus administration, the professors’ association, the Free Student Union, and the campus management committee.
Chairman of the Campus Management Committee and Mayor of Lahan Municipality, Mahesh Prasad Chaudhary, stated that this initiative aims to raise the academic standard of Lahan.
Investment Alone Not Enough—Monitoring Is Key
Mayor Chaudhary remarked:
"We have concluded that investments in education will not yield results without continuous monitoring. Lahan Municipality is fully committed to investing, but investments alone are not enough. Proper monitoring is essential to ensure results."
Chaudhary Commits to Making Campus a Provincial Model
Rajendra Prasad Chaudhary, an ex-officio member of the campus management committee and a Provincial Assembly Member, has willingly taken on the responsibility of coordinator of the monitoring committee.
He assured that efforts will be made to transform JS Murarka Campus into a model institution within Madhesh Province.
He also emphasized the need to form similar monitoring committees involving parents, school administration, and civic leaders in community schools across Lahan.
Issues Raised in Meeting Prompt Committee Formation
The decision to form the monitoring committee followed the presentation of several issues at the meeting, including:
-
Incomplete courses
-
Poor library management
-
Under-equipped science laboratory
-
Irregular student attendance
Although JS Murarka Campus has received Quality Assurance and Accreditation (QAA) certification from the University Grants Commission, these challenges remain unaddressed.
