NOU First Convocation Program Notice (2082 Magh 11)

Nepal Open University, Central Office, Manbhawan, Lalitpur, Nepal, Notice Regarding the Program of the First Convocation Ceremony.

Nepal Open University will organize its First Convocation Ceremony on 2082 Magh 11 (Sunday), corresponding to January 25, 2026, at Nepal Police Club, Pradarshani Marg, Kathmandu. This notice has been published for the information of all concerned students.

Students participating in the convocation ceremony must wear their gown, scarf, and cap, and show their issued grace card at the entrance gate. They must enter the venue before 10:00 AM and be seated in the designated place according to the seating arrangement.

Other detailed programs related to this ceremony are as follows:

1. Distribution of Gown, Scarf, and Cap

  • Date: From 2082 Magh 6 to 2082 Magh 10

  • Time: 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM

  • Venue: Central Office, Nepal Open University, Manbhawan, Lalitpur

  • Documents required (mandatory): Two copies of photo (MRP Size) and bank voucher

Since gown, scarf, and cap will not be distributed on the day of the ceremony (2082 Magh 11), students must mandatorily collect them within the above-mentioned dates.

2. Dress Code

Students attending the ceremony must follow the dress code below:

  • Male students: Formal dress with coat, pants, tie, and the gown, scarf, and cap provided by Nepal Open University

  • Female students: Formal dress or sari/blouse, along with the gown, scarf, and cap provided by Nepal Open University

3. Certificate Distribution

  • Certificates will be distributed from the convocation stage at the ceremony venue.

  • Students who attend the convocation ceremony but could not collect the certificate on the same day, and students who applied but could not participate, may later receive the certificate from the Central Examination Section of Nepal Open University.

4. Return of Gown, Scarf, Cap, and Refund of Deposit (Except Holidays)

  • Return dates: From 2082 Magh 13 to 2082 Magh 15

  • Return and refund time: 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM

  • Office: Central Examination Section, Nepal Open University

The deposit amount will be refunded only after submitting the gown, scarf, and cap along with the memo paper provided at the time of distribution.

If the gown, scarf, and cap are lost, or if one or two items out of the three are lost, a fine of Rs. 1,000 per item will be charged. If the items are not returned, the deposit amount will not be refunded.

If students do not return the gown, scarf, and cap within the specified dates, the deposit amount will be refunded after deducting the late fee as mentioned below. Similarly, students who filled the form but did not take the gown, scarf, and cap will also be charged the same late fee to receive the deposit refund:

  • Period: 2082/10/16 to 2082/10/19
    Late fee: Rs. 250

  • Period: 2082/10/20 to 2082/10/23
    Late fee: Rs. 500

  • Period: 2082/10/24 to 2082/10/27
    Late fee: Rs. 750

  • Period: 2082/10/28 to 2082/11/02
    Late fee: Rs. 1,000

If the deposit is not collected within the above periods, the deposit will not be refunded.

5. Eligibility and Online Application for Participation

Students who have passed the Diploma, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and MPhil levels and obtained transcripts under the semester and annual examination system from B.S. 2074 to the end of Asar, B.S. 2082, and who wish to participate in the First Convocation Ceremony scheduled to be held on 2082/10/11 (Sunday), are again informed to complete the process and submit the online application by 2082 Magh 4 from the Convocation section of the Nepal Open University website: https://www.nou.edu.np
