Helen Keller International is an International non-profit organization (INGO) works to improve the sight and lives of the vulnerable by combatting the causes and consequences of blindness, poor health, and malnutrition through public health approaches, building the capacity of organizations, and contributig to policy changes through systems strengthening and operations research. Summary of Job Purpose: Helen Keller Int in partnership with SNV Nepal is seeking a consultant individual or organization to conduct Food Systems Landscape Analysis in national context, using a systems lens covering structural (e.g., actors, policies, resources), relational (e.g., connections, partnerships, power differences), and mental aspects (e.g., norms and values around food, cultural aspects around agriculture & consumption patterns).
Qualifications and experiences: Individual or organization with team members with a master's degree in Agricultural Economics, Food Security and Nutrition, Rural Development, Environment, Community Development, Natural Resource Management, Sustainable Rural Livelihoods, Sociology, or related fields. Should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in leading agricultural value chains and market systems analysis, socio-economic assessments, community development, and needs assessments, specifically focusing on sustainable livelihoods related to natural resource management and conservation. Must have demonstrated expertise in developing and delivering high-quality socio-economic assessments, including gender analyses, with livelihood assessments associated with meeting the objectives of natural resource management. Advanced practical knowledge of agricultural systems and analysis of agriculture-based livelihoods in the South Asian region and specifically to Nepal is required.
