The program is designed for students seeking basic-level technical skills in civil engineering and construction-related services.

Curriculum Structure

The program combines classroom learning, practical training, and workplace-based exposure. It is completed through 18 months of class-based study followed by 6 months of on-the-job training.

The course structure includes 1560 hours of class-based learning and 960 hours of on-the-job training. It follows a competency-based approach with 20% theory and 80% practical classes. The OJT component is included to connect students with employers, provide hands-on work experience, and support employability after graduation.

The curriculum prepares students for civil construction and infrastructure-related tasks. It covers the knowledge and practical skills required for building construction, water supply, irrigation, roads, and trail bridges.

Students learn to prepare drawings of small-scale rural water supply schemes, small-scale irrigation structures, and minor residential buildings. They also develop skills to supervise civil construction works related to building construction, water supply, roads, and trail bridges.

The program supports employment in civil construction companies, consulting firms, government institutions at central and local levels, and local or international non-governmental organizations. It also supports self-employment in civil engineering-related services.

Graduates are eligible for positions equivalent to Non-gazetted 2nd class or level 4 technical as Civil Sub-Overseer, or as prescribed by the Public Service Commission.
