The Pre-Diploma in Survey Engineering (AMIN) aims to prepare competent basic-level technical workforce in survey engineering. The program focuses on the practical skills and technical knowledge required for survey-related work in land, construction, infrastructure, cadastral, engineering, and topographical survey areas.
The program is completed within 18 months. It includes 15 months of class-based study and 3 months, or 480 hours, of on-the-job training. The curriculum is designed with practical exposure, instructor demonstrations, and hands-on exercises so that students can develop working skills in the major areas of survey engineering.
The course includes ten subjects covering the main technical areas of survey work. Although the program includes essential theory, its central focus is skill development, competency building, and practical application.
Key study areas include fundamentals of surveying, survey drawing and CAD operations, control surveying, cadastral surveying and land administration, engineering survey, survey project management, basic civil construction, basic GIS operation, topographical survey, entrepreneurship development, and on-the-job training.
Eligibility: Candidates with SLC with any grade and any GPA since the implementation of the letter grading system are eligible. Candidates who appeared in SLC before the implementation of the letter grading system are also eligible.
Admission: Candidates must pass the entrance examination administered by CTEVT.
Attendance Requirement: Students must maintain a minimum of 90% attendance in theory and practical or performance-based learning to be eligible for internal assessments and final examinations.
The program prepares students to apply fundamental surveying skills and knowledge in field-based and technical settings. Students learn to carry out survey drawings and computer-aided design, establish control points, and apply cadastral survey and land administration skills.
The course also develops skills in engineering survey, simple survey project work, basic construction, basic geographic information system operation, and topographical survey. Entrepreneurship development is included to support students in understanding self-employment and service-based work opportunities linked with survey engineering.
Rapti Technical School has more than ten hectares of land and facilities that support technical education and practical training. The school has laboratories, workshop, library, training building, classrooms, student hostel with 100 beds and canteen, guesthouse, staff quarters, livestock farm, horticultural farm and orchard, human and veterinary clinic, and private water source.
For Pre-Diploma in Survey Engineering (AMIN) students, practical learning is supported through survey drawing, CAD-related work, control survey practice, engineering survey tasks, GIS-related learning, topographical survey practice, and on-the-job training.
