The Restaurant and Bar Association (REBAN) Pokhara is set to host the 25th edition of its renowned street festival in the picturesque Lakeside area of Pokhara. Scheduled from December 28, 2023, to January 1, 2024, this event is a celebration of culture and tourism, promising to captivate both domestic and international visitors.

Highlights of the Festival

  • Dates: December 28, 2023 - January 1, 2024 (Poush 12 to 16).
  • Location: Lakeside area, Pokhara, stretching approximately 3 km from Fistel Gate to Jarebar through Chautara of Gara.
  • Theme: Celebrated as a silver festival this year, the event's motto is "Eat on the street, have fun on the street".

Objectives and Expectations

  • Tourist Attraction: Aiming to position Pokhara as a prime destination for celebrating the English New Year.
  • Visitor Target: Anticipating over 5.5 lakh visitors, surpassing the numbers from the previous festival.
  • Tourism Promotion: Enhancing the overall appeal of Pokhara as a tourist hub.

  • Cultural Programs: Showcasing original costumes, national and international food exhibition.
  • Competitions and Performances: Including a double song competition, tableau performances, night concerts, boat races, waiter races, and tug of car events.
  • Sports and Activities: Volleyball competitions and awareness-raising street dramas.
  • Art and Crafts: Exhibitions featuring handicrafts, paintings, sculptures, and agricultural and plant materials.

Support and Promotion

  • Collaborations: Organized with the support of the Nepal Tourism Board, Pokhara Metropolitan City, Gandaki Provincial Government, and Pokhara Tourism Council.
