Resunga Campus Resumes Normal Operations After Financial Crisis
Resunga Multiple Campus, located in Gulmi, has returned to normal operations after previously declaring a financial crisis. According to the campus management committee, the situation has now stabilized.
Reason Behind Crisis Declaration
Chairperson of the Campus Management Committee, Mr. Shriprasad Bhalami, stated that the campus was compelled to declare a financial emergency on 30th Shrawan 2079 due to its weak financial condition and declining student numbers.
Staff Reduction for Financial Relief
During this period, the campus relieved seven professors and six staff members from duty. Mr. Bhalami explained that this move reduced the monthly expenditure by NPR 711,918 and eased the financial burden.
Municipal Support and Budget Challenges
In response to the financial strain, Resunga Municipality decided to grant NPR 10 million to the campus. As per that decision, the first installment of NPR 5 million has been received. However, the remaining amount has not yet been disbursed due to a complaint filed with the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority.
Retirement Pay Details
According to Management Committee Member Mr. Harikumar Shrestha, of the total NPR 33,689,327 owed to retired professors and staff, NPR 22,302,842 has been paid. The remaining NPR 11,386,485 is yet to be cleared, though arrangements are being made and the situation is under control.
Current Student Enrollment
In the academic year 2081/082, a total of 731 students are enrolled in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the campus.
