Ghodaghodi Multiple Campus (घाेडाघाेडी बहुमुखी क्याम्पस) is a community campus located on the East-West Highway at Sukhad, Ghodaghodi, Kailali district, Nepal. The campus was established in 2005 AD (2062 BS), with its establishment also recorded as 2062 Bhadra 23. It was founded to expand access to higher education for students in the local area and reduce the need to travel to Dhangadhi or Kathmandu for university-level study.

The campus is affiliated with Tribhuvan University for bachelor’s and master’s degree programs and with the National Examinations Board (NEB) for Ten Plus Two programs. It is approved by the University Grants Commission of Nepal and is QAA accredited by UGC Nepal.

Ghodaghodi Multiple Campus takes its name from Ghodaghodi Lake, which has been listed in the world Ramsar List. Its location in Sukhad places it near the midpoint of Kailali district, serving students from surrounding municipalities and rural municipalities.

Ghodaghodi Multiple Campus was established through the participation of the local community. The campus is a non-profit organization aiming to provide higher-level education at low cost and affordable fees. It has grown from a locally initiated community campus into a multi-program institution offering Ten Plus Two, bachelor’s and master’s-level education under nationally recognized academic bodies.

The campus has passed through different institutional challenges since its establishment. It has also worked to respond to changing student interest, especially as new bachelor-level programs have attracted learners to the campus.

Affiliation, Approval and Quality Assurance

Ghodaghodi Multiple Campus runs higher education programs under Tribhuvan University. Its Ten Plus Two programs are affiliated with the National Examinations Board. The campus is approved by the University Grants Commission of Nepal.

The campus received QAA certification from UGC Nepal in 2018 AD. It has approved its LOI for re-accreditation and has submitted its LOI for the second phase of QAA accreditation to UGC. The campus has also worked in NEHEP, QE and Entrepreneurship Program under UGC. It has completed the Second Higher Education Project (SHEP) and has been engaged in the Higher Education Reform Program (HERP), with a focus on QAA standards.

Physical Infrastructure

Ghodaghodi Multiple Campus is situated on a spacious campus with a total land area of 10.4 bigha. Additional land was acquired over the years, including through the Mahayagya program organized in 2068 BS.

Before 2070 BS, the campus had built a three-story main building and a Mahayagya building with 10 rooms. Later, the provincial government supported the campus with two additional buildings. Larger rooms in these buildings were partitioned to increase usable academic and administrative space.

For 2080/81 BS, the campus infrastructure includes 9 buildings covering 40,000 sq. ft., 36 classrooms, 4 lab and library rooms, 10 administration rooms, 2 exam halls, 1 ladies dress changing room, 1 health desk, 1 store room for ECA and equipment, 1 canteen and 24 toilet seats for staff, boys and girls.

The campus also has a constructed temple, college gate, cycle stand and block pavement. The first floor of the degree building is constructed. The campus has 2 sanitary pad vending machines, 2 guest rooms and a ladies hostel under construction.

Furniture, Equipment and Transport

Ghodaghodi Multiple Campus has expanded its furniture, equipment and transport resources. For 2080/81 BS, the recorded resources include 947 desks and benches, 382 tables and chairs, 6 cabinets, 28 dias, 1 generator, 2 inverters, 165 fans, 1 tent, 5 sound systems, 4 buses, 2 bicycles, 42 cupboards and racks, 2 solar panels, 23 laptops, 110 computers, 18 printers and 2 telephone/fax units.

These resources support classroom activity, administration, student mobility, events, computer-based work and day-to-day campus operations.

Educational Technology and Learning Resources

The campus uses educational technology in classrooms and administration. Its resources include computers, internet, intercom, fax, photocopy services, printers, software networking and ICT-supported classroom tools. The campus has also used smart boards and projectors as part of its teaching-learning setup.

Ghodaghodi Multiple Campus has an e-library system in collaboration with Tribhuvan University Central Library (TUCL). Software systems are used for library account management, administration and EMIS. The campus has also aimed to expand the use of smart boards in classrooms.

Laboratories and Library

The campus has three labs: a computer lab, social work lab and journalism lab. The computer lab includes network-supported computers with suitable application software and internet access. These labs support program-specific learning, practical work and ICT-based study.
