Supreme Court Orders Government to Address Teachers' Demands Within 3 Days

The Supreme Court has issued an order to the government to address the legitimate demands of protesting teachers and ensure an environment for them to return to schools within 3 days. According to Supreme Court Spokesperson and Co-Registrar Achyut Kuinkel, the single bench of Justice Nahakul Subedi issued this directive.

"Regarding addressing the legitimate and constitutional demands of the protesting teachers, the concerned authorities must make appropriate and necessary decisions to ensure that protesting teachers return to schools and resume teaching within 3 days of receiving this order," states the court order.

The order further instructs that children across the country should not be deprived of their right to regular education at schools. Additionally, the court has ordered necessary and appropriate arrangements to ensure that the publication of SEE exam results is not delayed due to the teachers' protest, and that the Grade 12 examinations be conducted on schedule.

"As there is a risk that millions of students' futures could be uncertain if the Grade 12 board examinations are not held on time due to the teachers' protest, those examinations must be conducted as scheduled and not postponed," the order states.

Advocate Shravan Kumar Chaudhary had filed the writ petition on Wednesday, April 24, 2025, naming the Council of Ministers, Ministry of Education, Federal Parliament, Department of Education, and the National Examination Board as defendants.
