
Tribhuvan University Approves Rs. 28.12 Billion Budget for FY 2082/83
Tribhuvan University has passed the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2082/83. The TU Assembly, held today at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar, approved a total budget of NPR 28.12 billion 57 lakh 21 thousand. The budget was presented by Registrar Prof. Dr. Kedar Prasad Rijal.
The budget outlines programs ranging from curriculum design aligned with the labor market to the reduction of unnecessary expenditures. The university announced that it will continue its policy of launching timely, market-relevant academic and research programs while also revising existing curricula.
The budget prioritizes the development of labor market-oriented curricula in various subjects under its institutes and faculties. It also allocates resources for training programs aimed at enhancing the skills of teaching faculty.
Emphasis on Human Resources and Tech-Savvy Workforce
Priority has been given to programs focused on human resource development and fostering technology-friendly manpower. In line with this policy, financial arrangements will be made to encourage TU’s departments and students to organize national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars.
Expansion of Incubation Centers and Use of Information Technology
Plans have been prioritized to expand the role of incubation centers and make them more effective. The use of information technology will be extended to improve teaching-learning, research, exam management, financial systems, and administrative governance.
The budget places emphasis on improving and expanding technical, labor-market-oriented, and knowledge-generating programs. It also highlights making research activities more impactful and of higher quality, with a focus on areas prioritized by the Government of Nepal.
Beautification and infrastructure development within university premises have also been highlighted.
Tribhuvan University has stated that it will give priority to the completion of ongoing development and construction projects and will also focus on reconstruction efforts.
