Residential SEE Prep in Tamakoshi Rural Municipality
Tamakoshi Rural Municipality in Dolakha has launched a residential teaching–learning program targeting the upcoming Secondary Education Examination (SEE).
The program has been started in all eight secondary schools within the rural municipality, with Grade 10 students at the centre of the initiative, according to municipal officials.
Prioritising improvement in educational quality, the municipality has been running regular classes, practice examinations and revision-based learning processes in an effective manner from the first week of Mangsir, Rural Municipality Vice-Chair Srijana Subedi said.
According to her, students’ weaknesses have been identified and revision, practice-based learning and daily assessment have been strengthened at the school level. Vice-Chair Subedi stated that the residential program has been advanced in line with the rural municipality’s long-term goal of improving learning levels at the secondary level.
She said, “Our objective is not only to improve results but also to bring lasting improvements in students’ basic learning competencies.”
Chief Administrative Officer of the rural municipality, Arjun Darji, said that the municipality will provide Rs 13,000 per student. From this amount, food, hostel facilities, study materials and all related services will be provided to students for four months. He added that creating an environment where students can focus on their studies is the main objective of the municipality.
Head of the Education Section, Govinda D.C., said that substantial improvement in students’ learning levels is expected as a result of daily practice, regular testing, identification of weaknesses and continuous monitoring.
The rural municipality has stated that it will regularly monitor teacher attendance, students’ learning progress, discipline and motivation, and will further strengthen the management of necessary resources and technology to make the program more effective.
