CTEVT Issues New 2082 Guideline for Admissions and Scholarships

For this purpose, the Council has issued the ‘Guideline for Selection of Trainees, Scholarship Distribution, and Admission in Pre-Diploma, Diploma, and Certificate Levels 2082’.

GPA Weightage and Selection Method

According to the guideline, the GPA obtained in SEE will be considered with a total weight of 4 points. Among this:

  • Those who studied in community schools will be given 1 point

  • Those who studied in institutional (private) schools will be given 0.85 points

This combined score will be used to determine the order of merit.

Decision Made in the 207th Meeting of the Council

The 207th meeting of the Council, held on 26th Baisakh 2082, decided this and instructed the Examination Controller's Office accordingly. The office then issued the guidelines based on this.

Previous Practice Was Based on Entrance Exam Scores

Previously, students were admitted based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam. From now on, students will be admitted based on the GPA obtained in SEE or Certificate Level, without any entrance exam.

Office Confirms GPA-Based Admission from This Session

The Examination Controller's Office has confirmed that students will be admitted based on their GPA from this academic session. The office stated that entrance exams spread various negative rumors, hence the decision to admit students based on GPA.

Bridge Courses Previously Run for Entrance Preparation

In the past, bridge courses were conducted to prepare students for entrance exams under the Council's programs. Students had to pay high amounts for such courses.

New System Ends That Practice with GPA-Based Admission

To end such practices, students will now be admitted based on their marks. Under CTEVT, there are 63 constituent and institutional colleges and over 400 private colleges across the country. More than 25,000 new students enroll in these colleges each year.

CTEVT Now Accepting Online Admission Forms

From now on, CTEVT has arranged for the submission of admission forms online. Constituent and affiliated private campuses will also facilitate form submissions for such students.

Guidelines to Make the Admission Process Easier for Students

Nirmala Sapkota, General Secretary of the Health and Technology Science Forum, stated that the issuance of this guideline will make it much easier for students. Now, students who want to pursue technical education will not have to go through the hassle of filling out entrance exam forms, taking entrance exams, and waiting for results.

Students Can Choose Subject, Campus, and Quota Online

Students can now fill out the form online through the Council’s website by selecting their preferred subject, institution, and eligible quota.

Six-Month Entrance Exam Management Responsibility Removed

Every year, from Asar to Mangsir, the office had to be engaged in entrance exam operations and management for almost six months.

Now the Focus Will Shift to Academic Calendar-Based Exams

From now on, that manpower will be able to focus on conducting semester and yearly exams and publishing results based on the academic calendar. This ensures the effective implementation of the academic calendar.
