Dhaulagiri Campus Launches First Technical Education Program
Dhaulagiri Multiple Campus, Baglung, has introduced technical education for the first time. Recognized as the top-performing constituent campus of Tribhuvan University under the Management faculty, the campus has now expanded its academic offerings to include technical subjects.
According to Program Coordinator Shiva Poudel, the Bachelor-level technical program began this academic session. Dhaulagiri is the first campus in the former Dhaulagiri region—covering four districts—to run BICTE (Bachelor in Information and Communication Technology Education) classes.
Poudel explained that the program was launched to fulfill the aspirations of students aiming to become 21st-century educators, skilled in both technology and teaching.
The BICTE program is designed to prepare professionals capable of using modern technology in teaching and data analysis. It also aims to produce experts in essential digital-era skills such as cybersecurity and network management—now expected to be developed at Dhaulagiri itself.
Graduates of the BICTE program will be ready for employment in both government and non-government institutions, as well as for self-employment. With increasing demand for such expertise, the campus has introduced technical education to meet the needs of the time.
