
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has started an Entrepreneurship Support Program through selected colleges. The primary objective is to encourage young people to establish their own businesses and develop practical solutions to unemployment and migration.
Colleges from different universities were chosen based on proposals submitted to the commission. The program is open to current students, young teachers, and recent graduates who completed their bachelor's or master's degree within the last five years.

This initiative is designed to help participants gain the knowledge and skills to start their own businesses.
As part of the rollout, N.R. College in Nepalatar, Ward No. 11 of Tarkeshwar Municipality, Kathmandu, organized an orientation session on Friday, 13th June 2025, for students.

The session was led by Chitravardhan Thapa, Chairperson of the College Management Committee.

Rajip Dhital, Campus Chief of N.R. College, explained that selected students will receive hands-on training under this program.

With UGC’s support, students can apply for interest-free loans ranging from NPR 500,000 to 4,000,000.
